The Danville Regional Foundation was set up in 2005 as a result of the sale of the Danville Regional Medical Center in Danville, Virginia. The Foundation takes an active role in supporting economic development and using philanthropy to help both public and private sectors. work together.
As part of that role, the Foundation recognized that the community of Danville was not alone in his efforts to find resources and expertise to help guide their economic development efforts as a smaller community. To address this gap, the Foundation created the Home of Future Thinking conference in 2017.
Today the HOFT conference continues to invite and convene micropolotians from across the US (SOUTH) to continue to build capacity and collaboration in their community development efforts.
